The Jack Frost process

Find the problem.
Know the next step.

Warm air, a recurring leak or an A/C system that has stopped working — every visit starts with inspection and diagnosis. We establish what your vehicle needs before recommending the repair.

Your starting point

Book an inspection.
You don’t need to know the fault.

Describe the symptom. Our job is to investigate the cause and explain your options.

What the 24-point inspection covers →

From booking to handover

A clear process.
At every stage.

Inspection first. Findings explained. Repairs approved by you.

  1. Book your inspection.

Tell us your vehicle details, what the A/C is doing and when it happens. Mention any previous repairs or recent regasses so we have the right starting point.

Your first booking is for inspection — a repair is not assumed.

  2. We inspect and diagnose.

We assess cooling performance and system operation, then investigate the symptoms. Pressure behaviour, airflow, compressor operation and signs of leaks help guide the next step.

Some faults need further testing. We explain any additional diagnostic work and cost before proceeding.

  3. You get the findings and next steps.

We explain what we found, the recommended work and the cost. Depending on the diagnosis, that could involve leak repair, electrical work, a component replacement or refrigerant service.

You approve the proposed work before repairs begin.

  4. We complete the approved work.

The repair follows the diagnosis. Where refrigerant service is required, we confirm the correct refrigerant for your vehicle and address any identified leak before recharging.

A regas restores refrigerant. It does not repair a leak.

  5. We test, then hand your vehicle back.

We check operation and cooling performance after the approved work, explain what was completed and provide relevant aftercare and warranty information.

If you have a concern after your visit, contact us so we can review it.

Why we start with diagnosis

“Just a regas” can miss the real problem.

Low refrigerant is only one possible reason for poor cooling. Leaks, airflow restrictions, electrical faults and component problems can produce similar symptoms.

Adding refrigerant does not fix an underlying fault. If a leak is found, we explain the repair needed before recharging the system.

Symptoms alone cannot confirm a diagnosis or repair price. Required work, costs and timing depend on the inspection findings and your vehicle.

Before your appointment

A few details help us investigate.

You don’t need to diagnose it yourself. Just tell us what you have noticed.

  • When does it happen? At idle, while driving, on hot days or only sometimes?
  • What has changed? Cooling, airflow, smells, sounds or warning lights?
  • What has already been done? Previous repairs, regasses or advice you have received.
