How much does it cost to Regas car air conditioning?
Australia is a very hot and humid continent and having a properly working air conditioner is vital to keeping you/and your family comfortable in your vehicle all year round. In today’s age, we have come reliant on our air conditioning systems, which forget the AC system needs an annual service to make sure it’s fully functioning.
While a regular car service will check for obvious faults which may be associated with the air conditioning system, such as drive belt tension, visible leaks, loose or faulty compressor, and condensers, it is good practice to have a comprehensive air conditioning service
Car air conditioners not only keep you cool during Summer, but they also remove humidity from the cabin, which can be handy in the winter to counteract a foggy windscreen.
Running your AC during winter also helps to maintain the system in good working order. Air conditioning systems contain a myriad of hoses and seals that can dry out or crack, which could lead to coolant leaks and poor performance.
Car AC Regas Cost
When you visit Jack Frost Car Air Conditioning, our ac technicians will perform a comprehensive inspection of your vehicle’s air conditioning systems.
This includes pressurizing the system with our highly detectable n95/h5 nitrogen/hydrogen leak detection trace gas and comprehensively leak testing your evaporator core behind the dash (no one else does this!), compressor, condenser & hoses to find any leaks you may have.
We inspect all visible components of the system to ensure their integrity & also test and inspect electrical circuits & operations. Our technicians will check for further repairs and replacements to get your air conditioner in top condition.
If no leaks are found and your system passes all legal requirements, we can re-gas your car air conditioning system from $196.00. ( Includes 6 months Warranty.) See below for more information about our regas prices for mobile and workshop.

Protecting the environment
Car manufacturers are being forced to change the refrigerant used in the air conditioning system over the next few years over to HFO-1234yf. The motor industry has decided that the refrigerant used for the past 20 years is less environmentally friendly than a refrigerant with a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP).
Initially, the response was to use carbon dioxide gas (CO2) to cool the car. This is actually possible but resulted in very poor results in areas where the temperature is high, like Brisbane – exactly the sort of place where AC is required. This would result in more fuel being used to cool the car – not exactly what we would want nor would that be very environmentally desirable.
