Car AC Servicing & Maintenance
A car air conditioning service checks refrigerant pressures, compressor operation, airflow, electrical components, and cabin temperature performance. Unlike a basic regas, a full service identifies leaks, worn parts, and efficiency issues to ensure reliable cooling especially in Brisbane’s heat.
Why you need to service your car aircon system every 1-2 years?
As time passes, the various components of your car’s air conditioning system can become clogged with moisture, dust, debris, pet hair, and bacteria along with the general wear and tear of your aircon parts and hoses.
If left unchecked, these build-ups can lead to damage to crucial parts, causing costly repairs or replacements. Regular maintenance helps mitigate this risk by allowing early identification of any potential issues through thorough inspections.
Benefits of a Car Aircon Service:
- Keep the air inside the vehicle cool and comfortable
- Diagnose smaller issues before they become major repairs
- Maintain the longevity of the AC system
- Prevents the growth of mold and bacteria, which can cause unpleasant odors
- Increase fuel efficiency by reducing the strain on the engine

Frequently Asked Questions
A car air conditioning service involves a full inspection of the system, not just the refrigerant level. It typically includes checking system pressures, compressor operation, airflow performance, electrical components, and cabin temperature output. The aim is to ensure the system is cooling efficiently, operating safely, and free from leaks or developing faults.
No. A regas is only one part of air conditioning maintenance. It focuses on restoring refrigerant levels when required. A full air conditioning service assesses the entire system, identifies underlying issues, and confirms whether a regas is actually needed. Servicing first helps prevent unnecessary regassing and future problems.
For most vehicles, an air conditioning service is recommended every one to two years. However, if cooling performance drops, unusual noises occur, or odours develop, the system should be inspected sooner. Regular servicing helps maintain performance and can prevent costly repairs over time.
Most car air conditioning services take between 45 minutes and 60 minutes, depending on the vehicle and whether any issues are identified during inspection. If repairs or leak detection are required, additional time may be needed, which should always be discussed before proceeding.
Yes. A properly serviced air conditioning system cools more effectively, operates more efficiently, and is less likely to fail unexpectedly. Regular servicing can extend component life, improve cabin comfort year-round, and reduce the risk of more expensive repairs down the track.
